When our law enforcement officers need additional protection from possible airborne pollutants and toxic gases, they wear a gas mask. These protective masks, also known as an air-purifying respirator mask, form a sealed barrier around the soft tissues of the face and cover the eyes and ears. A filter/cartridge is attached to the mask to filter out chemical gases and possibly particulates as you breathe.

Canisters can fit on either side of this chemical gas mask and the drinking tube permits fluid intake in contaminated environments.
